New Mazda Concept! Iconic SP

Just came across this...Anyone aware of this..?

From Nikkei (in Japanese)... マツダ、コンパクトスポーツカーコンセプト「MAZDA ICONIC SP」を公開 - 日本経済新聞

Apparently it's powered by a 2-rotor Rotary-EV system...Is this the next MX-5 Miata? It appears to be categorized as a compact sports car concept although it's not clear if this a preview of the next Miata or an entirely new Mazda sports car model...OR is Mazda bringing back the RX-7 or an entirely new RX sport car!?!?

Thoughts? More info..?

In any case, very exciting news!

Ps...The more I look at the pics, the more I see hints of the RX-7...This could very well be leading to an EV RX-7 or entirely new RX model.

Looks fantastic. The great thing is the weight - at only ~1500 kg.

Stuff like this is why I love Mazda. When the world is moving towards big, hulking SUV type cars, Mazda shows this.

Also listening to the Mazda boss, he presented it like it was a production car, which was interesting!
