Need help with Mazda6 shift light issue

Does anyone know how to get this glossy black plastic off? Im trying to figure out why my shift lights work half the time. I’ll be in drive then shift into park then they will turn off. There is voltage at the wires whenever the lights on are but the actual bulb only comes on 1/3 of the time then turns off whenever i shift
