What do you all think of the Toyota MR2??

I have a friend who has an 02 w/ 20,000 miles on it. He wants to sell for 18,000. Is that a good deal? Ride is clean!! Anybody know anything about them?

Can't go wrong with a Toyota. Quality should be high on them. I don't like them because they have no storage space. Forget taking it to the store with your buddy to picke up anything more than a 6-pack. Handling is on par with mid-engine vehicles.

However, for the price you could get a left over 03 Miata and get a new car warrantee and NO miles.

Good friend owned one, got to take it around a track a few times...this was a much older MR2, though.
Handling was good, reliability was off the charts. This guy used it for SCCA racing, pushed the crap out of it, and the thing never objected once.
Just remember, you better not have more than one friend in your life, cause that puppy is TIGHT.
I must say though that I havent seen anything newer than about 8yrs old, so they could have changed.

My mother (yeah my mom) bought an MR2 turbo in 91 and it is the most excellent car I have ever driven. Handles great, plenty of power, cool styling. I freaked when she traded it on a 93 stealth TT. What a sweet car that was.
