Yeah - I think it is just aftermarket tail covers on a Focus, too. And yes, they are ugly ass.

That's a regular indy plate. I think those are apc tails. There are v8 conversion kits, I'm not aware of v6 conversions, but it "could" be done.

There have been a few Duratec V-6's fitted into a Focus. And those are not APC tails. They are either Morette or Hella.

Yes. The Contour 2.5l Duratech V6 and the SHO 3l V6 can fit in the Focus. I thought about the V6 conversion as well since it's cheaper than the v8 conversion.

imports go on the basis of a small 4 cylinder (or such) and add F/I

domestics are just huge displacement in most cases

IE:
(like EVO vs Stang)
(like STI vs SS)

etc.
a v8 would NOT fall into the import category.

January issue of Hot Rod Magazine.... one of the oldest car enthusuiast magazines has done an article pitting the STi vs. the new Mustang Cobra..... interesting read coming from what is traditionally a muscle car mag, but is starting to branch out into the compact car/ import arena... though they dont forget their roots they have been doing some intersting articles.

not to mention they have been doing a "turbo any engine" type of series that has been previously mentioned on this forum.... I'd say its atleast worth a trip to wal-Mart or Barnes and Noble to read it on the stand before putting it back

they realize that all the gen Xers are going to imports and turbos rather than huge displacement and 8 cylinders.

neither would a Focus.

too bad. i say if it works better, use it. if a given V-8 doesn't weigh much more than a given 4 (true for some), and if it can fit...as Gov. Ahhnold says, "Doooo eeeet! dooo eeet now!"

what convinced me was the C&D "Fourgasm" article.

the best tuned 4-cyls were << Z06.
