Don't you have that injen intake that should add a few hp, didn't it give you like 12whp? That should give you about 185 hp at the crank, Just a thought, I know those type s can be a bitch. We'll get them soon enough

No worries you can still whip the ass's of those civic owners
And in no time we should be able to have enough aftermarket to beat a acura rsx - type s, what is funny is where I live I only see rsx premiums and they drive them like they have the type s I can't wait to beat there ass at a light

those RSX Type-S are fast. If they launch high (and they can launch high) they are in the mid 14s...

Driver skill is important though...if you can't drive, don't expect to win. Not saying you can't drive...but I'm not surprised.

you may have a little more low end than the RSX-S, but it's not enough to balance out with their top end, and the fact that they can probally launch at 6000 rpm or so. I've only taken an RSX-S lauch (this is me driving the RSX) at 5000 rpm, but it probally could be launched at 6000 rpm.

That's the wonder of honda engines. They don't produce enough torque to really have you worry about wheel spin or hop, or even torque steer, but the top end power is untouchable cept maybe from Toytoa's VVTL-i engines, which I believe are better in their own right.

Having low end torque is a double edged sword. It's good if you know how to use it...but it comes with costs, torque steer, wheel hop and spin.

It's the same with a turbo, double edged sword, you only make power if you stay in boost.

Everything has ups and downs to it. It's up to you to figure out the weaknesses, and overcome them.

Not saying you are a sucky driver or anything, but did you actually race from a stoplight to whatever you guys were doing cause the MSP's 0-60-and 1/4mile times are around the same time. Seeing how lawerence ran a 14.9 stock" i think it would have been an even to driver's race, unless he had his K20A motor really Souped up or something..

I'm just wondering if it was close and if so, how close. I have driven my friend's Rsx-S and I know it's fast! I can't see it completely kicking the Msp's butt but I could be wrong.

2.0 Liter producing 200 horspower, naturally-aspirated? I'll take the RSX Type-S any day.

The only 4 naturally aspirated cars producing at least 100 HP per liter are the Acura RSX Type-S, BMW M3, Ferrari 575M (I think, but one of the Ferrari's), and the most with 120 HP per liter, the Honda S2000.

For now, I'll just cruise with my pretty slow Protege5. (so sad...)

Heres the situation:

1. Stoplight, he's on the inside lane, I'm on outside
2. 15 yards over a bump into a left hand turn
3. I launched at 2500rpm to get a quick little lunge into the turn
4. LSD pulling me towards him I shift at 5000rpm to get into the torque band
5. He shifts at 8000 and pulls away in 2nd
6. SpicyMSP has jaw dropped
7. I tell her the car has mods and at least 30-40hp on the MSP.
8. She doesn't care, it shouldn't have won, I am a poor driver.

That's the story.
