The muscle Miata is here!

Recently I put my LT1 RX-7 up for sale so I could buy a 1990 LS6 Miata. I sold the RX-7 to Tom Weber in St. Mathews. With that, I finally had the cash needed to buy the Miata. My son and I went to Virginia Beach over the weekend and brought it home.

My first impressions have been quite good. It has 4.5 times the power that the originally equiped Miata had. It handles that power like it's supposed to be there. It's fast, nimble, and goes around corners like it's on a rail. It's not too loud in the car, either. It does have some dings and needs the 1990 paint redone; but, I had planned to paint the RX-7. That project will now be transferred to the Miata. I'll also need to redo the seats. They're not torn; but, I may want to go with leather.

It sure is a fun car. I even trust this one well enough to let my wife drive it. I'd not be afraid to take it on a trip, either. The RX-7 was OK; but, I still didn't trust it for long trips. I didn't want my wife driving it, either.

OK, that sir is just complete badassery, just not enough pics.lol. Damn, do you have to take off in 2nd or 3rd gear so you don't get a flat burnin down the tires? Only thing else that would make it even badder is AWD. Have fun & don't hurt yourself.

To be honest, first gear works well. In the RX-7, I had to be careful to not make it wheel hop in first. Not this one. I don't know what all he did under the car; but, I can't wait to put it up on a rack for a look see. Whatever he did, he got it right.

AWD is good; but, it would be more maintenance prone. Two wheel is fine for what I'll use if for.

For sure, it is a little bad ass, though. I posted the most important photos, for now. I figured the engine would be the most important.

The previous owner was going to do away with the luggage rack; but, he realized it is more of a sleeper with the rack in place. I'm with him on that. I thought about removing the rack and going with a spoiler; but, I changed my mind. The rack stays. I'll repair the dents and paint it because the paint is getting pretty shabby. I'll redo the seat covers because they're old fabric. I may go with leather. That's about all the little fella needs for showing, next year.

So, what kind of photos do you want to see? The two I presented pretty much show you the car. I guess they don't show the roll bar inside, the bottom of the car, etc; but, it's supposed to be a sleeper, right?

I need to contact the previous owner to see what happened to the link to his photo gallery. I was going to give that to you guys so you could see his build photos; but, it won't come up, now. I guess he got rid of it because I have the car, now. I've got a few photos I may upload, later.

It's a Thunderbird rear purchased from Monster Miata.

I had a video of the car in action at a local autocross event; but, it's been deleted, for some reason. I've sent a note to the previous owner to ask where it went. I watched it yesterday and couldn't bring it up, this morning.

These guys are picture junkies.

They are asking for you to go somewhere and take some classic shots. Some that aren't taken in your driveway.

Personally, I would like for you to line up your collection and get a shot. I think the mazda love that your wife and you have is fantastic! The weather may not work in you favor though.

I detailed my car Friday, kept it in the garage most of the weekend and had it covered in junk by the time I got to work today.

Right now, we only have three Mazdas. Our first was a '73 PU that I bought new in '73. I'm not fond of all of the Mazdas. I don't like the Mazda6, Mazda5, SUVs, etc. We like sporty/sports cars. The little hatchbacks are fine, though.

As for the photos, I'm not much into taking them. I may line them up, one day; but, I don't carry a camera with me to take photos of the cars. In fact, the photos from the car shows are a special effort thing. I had to remember to take the camera.
