We have had customers install them on every Mazda model and the CX-9 also. No problem.

You can aslo look at our Volt kit with Japanese parts for OEM reliability: http://www.xenonexpert.com/volt_hid_sale.html

I bought an 09 CX-9 Sport and installed a HID Kit, not the brand above and paid $120 for the 4300k. The difference is amazing and well worth the money in my opinion. $70 is not that much to increase safety and visibility at night.

If you are considering it, you wont regret putting them in.

So the stock lights weren't bright enough for you? I couldn't belive how bright these things were when I bought my '08. Did they change to a different light in the '09's?

I wouldn't say they were brighter, actually a softer light, but it definately opened up the field of vision. The photos posted on HID kit websites where it shows you stock headlights and then ones with the HID's installed is pretty accurate. When I bought my CX-9 a few months ago I had always had with the standard halogen headlights. Since changing to the HID's I am amazed at the difference. For me the comparison is watching a standard analog channel on my 1080p plasma TV and then changing that to a blu ray dvd. A noticeable and more enjoyable experience when driving at night.

Thanks for the replies. If anyone has first hand experience with this brand and how the install went that can post a reply that would be great. Trey169 how did the install go for you with the brand you bought? Was it just plug in play kind of deal like the DDM kit clams to be?

So aren't the stock lights on the 08 CX9 HID or xenon lights?

Same exact set up as the ones here...plug n play. I had to drill out the dust covers that you need to remove in order to access the headlights, but the hid kits, just like the ones above, come with a rubber gasket that fits perfectly into the drilled out hole. Other than that is was simple. Finding a place to mount the ballasts was easy to. look towards the left and right side fenders and you will see a vacant area where it easily mounted. The mounting brackets provided in the kits can be used, but I found industrial strength velcro and zip ties worked the best. Some may advise against this method, but it has worked great with no movement or rattle.

The ballasts I have are the larger ones, so getting the smaller ones like the kits sold above are great. Just be sure to follow the directions and don't touch the bulbs with bare hands(grease on hands not good on bulb).

Almost forgot to add, check your local vehicle code laws, many states only allow a certain temperature/color. Im in CA. and I believe the max is 4300k. Most cops don't enforce it, at least the ones in the department I work for don't, but that could be a lack of knowledge about the law. What I do know is I see many cars driving around in CA with very blue and purple HID's that would probably signify having a higher temp than 4300k.

Personally I think 4300k is plenty and looks the best...but that is just preference.

I got their 6000k kit for my '08 GT stock fog light replacement(9006 type) to match my aftermarket 6000k headlight HID bulbs (stock 4300k). Defintely pleased with the customer service, shipping and product quality.

Only the GT trim has HIDs as stock headlights.

Oh, okay. It all makes sense now. I was just scratching my head wondering why anyone would want to upgrade the lights in this thing when they're already ridiculously bright.... I have the GT...
