2009 Mazda 6 versus 2011/2012 Mazda 3

Hello,

I'm thinking of upgrading to a 2011 Mazda 3 GX from my 2009 Mzda6 GS (V4); both having automatic transmission. The main motivation is the number of kilometers on the latter (approaching 225000 kms).

My Mazda6 has been reliable, in general, over the years.

However, I would like some advice from people who have driven both to see what I can expect in terms:

-Fuel economy (I have mostly driven my Mazda 6 for work commute 25-30km one way)
-Handling (I'm a quiet driver not into racing etc.)
-Seat comfort (recently I went on a 6 hour road-trip with a compact-car rental and it is amazing what seat ergonomics can do to your back...)

You'd probably be around 28MPG, or closer to 30 if it's mostly highway.
It handles quite well, and is very capable all around. Definitely not super stiff if that's what you're concerned about.
