Civic type R

Yeah i know. I sat in a few of the other cars for a quick lap and felt like i was sitting on the ground compared to sitting in the 2

Just thought i would show people my carpet

Nice! I almost bought a set of those for my miata, but ended up going with xidas. Let us know what spring rates you went with and how they work out!

Hahhaa i sent this picture to a firend and all he said was that the carpet was a amazing display of floral beauty.

I have had the coil overs sitting around for about a month and put them in about two nights ago. I am running 8k fronts and 6k rears. The rears are a inverted shock design of which i lost the pic of. I so far have the ride height set almost the same to the eibach lowering springs i had as they cleared all the major obstacles we have on our roads such as giant speed bumps. I had them set to 12 clicks but found my gf really hated it hahah. So now on 6. They are currently very very similar to the eibach springs on stock shocks in terms if ride confort

As for alignment and settings the ride hide we set it at, required us to reset the preload in the spring as it was going to be slammed on the ground. So we re did all four and got a good height, and we raised the driver side front by a few mm to accomadate me sitting in it. I am running zero toe and from the elongated holes set to max got 3.2 degree camber. I took it for a midnight spin before the alignment and all i could say was damn.... It was on the standard toyos and they just gripped like never before. I will still play around with the settings a bit over the next few weeks as i go on a holiday and start work soon after. The car is amazing :)

May have bought a new set of wheels........... Lighter and fatter than my current set up. Also got a track day coming up this weekend to test my set up of the suspensions. I now have a 3.4 and 3.7 max camber which is a lot but will see how it goes on Saturday

I also got a autoexe gear knob from japan and though i was so cool i got a nice gear knob untill the postage was almost as much as the knob hahahahh, i dont have pics though but it is this one

Here are some pics from a hillclimb i did a few weeks back, came third in class behind these two guys and a video of the track but in the mx5 as i do not have a go pro. The track was quite interesting i managed a pb of 71.5 but the other two cars were always faster than me

That hillclimb looks like it was a ton of fun, great for our tiny cars!

Here are some pics from a track day i went to recently.

Pic of alignment before track day. Just did toe and then left to party......by myself.......

It was at Winton motor raceway. I started the day well with getting a 1.55 in traffic, but soon after it heated up a lot and the car was feeling really off. The rest of the day i could not even get close to that time again being over 5 seconds off and having to slow right down in corners to make sure i did not go off at corner exit

It was understeering like a pig and i just had no grip at all at the front end past turn in. I was running 30psi in the front RS3 tires and later found out that that is a bit low, and also found out my suspension settings have changed from when i installed them. Well mostly the springs settled which has dropped the front by 0.5cm and the rear shocks need a whopping 2cm more preload. So the rear springs are not currently captive enough and boy does the car handle badly. I am in the process of fixing up my suspension as it has dawned on me how badly i had it set up

I will try change the settings tomorrow night hopefully. I tried on my own but the coil overs were too tight and could not adjust it on my own sadly.

Can anyone recommend a Tire PSI for the RS3 tires? I am running 195/50r15

Also a shot of my new wheels

33-35 seems to be the magic number for the RS3s... I ran first 3runs at 30 F/37R and had a little to much sponge in the front and not a ton of confidence in stick in the rear. Raised the front to 33 and dropped rear to 35 and felt better. Got up to 34F and 35R and went quickest in the short 6 run session. I plan on continuing working on the front pressures this weekend if the weather is good, if not I'll wait for sunny weather testing. Not sure where I'll set them for rain but 34/35 worked for 55F with a 35-45mph wind at MetLife last weekend. Ribbon smooth asphalt, sealed last year but weathered in nicely. Tires came back cleaner than I brought them and temps were even across the board. You are a bit on the high side on camber from what I've learned over the last 2 seasons. I was in the mid 3s with camber, now much less. grip and turn in has not fallen off, but wheel spin is drastically reduced. This was also after adding a ton of front spring in the car and removing both sway bars.

A pushy car will instill confidence, but a loose car is faster ultimately. Find the balance for your liking.

Thanks for the tip with the pressures. it made them a lot better for use. i ran 33 front and 34 rear.

Well i found out why my car was such a pig at the recent track day. One of my elongated holes bolts came loose and was going from -4 to +4 camber which was very dangerous. I now dislike elongated holes on coil overs.

Here are some pics from a recent motorkhana i did with Porshe forum Australia.

car was amazing. I was so happy with it considering the bad few weeks i was having with the suspension.

Anyway out of the 22 entries, which varied from Cayman R and Audi TTRS and a full range of Porshes and other cars, i came forth which i was happy with but was hoping for third hahahah

I was using a m10 bolt in place of the m12 as the fortune auto coil overs did not fit exactly. Had to fix that and use a m12 again. Also got tabs welded in so it will not slip again and a corner weight.

With the car now handling better than ever before i took 4 seconds off my previous best lap time with more in it. I also have a new wheel upgrade coming up that i hope fits hahahah

Thought i would just post the one pic i do have of the wheels
They are Enkei RPF1 15X8 et28 and i am running my RS3 195/50 on them. They fit rather well and the sidewall is not stretched much at all.
DSC_0474.jpg

I have yet to actually fit them properly or drive on them as i got the wheels balanced and the wheel weights all fell off for some reason. They are 1.6kg lighter each wheel than the same tire on the team dynamics wheels, which i now use as daily wheels. Lets hope they fit and dont scrub

Those are super nice wheels! I thought about those, but I have a hard time passing up the $320 (sale price after rebates at discount tire) flow formed konig 15x8's. I just wish the offset was a little higher.

I think you'll have to roll the fenders (wings?) to keep them from rubbing.
