Scbs tpms errors

Mazda CX-5 KEEFW
I have a 2012 Mazda CX-5 that i imported from Japan about 9 months ago. When I started yesterday morning, I got engine check light and errors with SCBS, TPMS and traction control warning light is illuminated. Car is almost undriveable. Seems as though it keeps braking and is very jerky (bucking). Car drove issue free the night before. I however did leave a hood lamp on by mistake and i would sometimes get before an error about power management system and the I-Stop would not work...it would be flashing orange. Don't know if problems are related. I took car to the closest technician. He scanned and picked up several codes: U0001, P061B, P0A8D, U0401 and B11D4. He cleared them and might have reset and car drove fine. Used for a few a hours and parked for around 5 hours. When i restarted the problem reoccurred. Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.

In all likelihood, you're car is due for an ECU reflash by a Mazda dealer. Early models were subject to some software glitches that only the dealer can resolve. Don't try to mess with this yourself.

Had the ECU reflashed by a mazda technician. Car drove fine on test run. Parked it up for a few hours and problem returned.

Read the transmission problem thread, sounds similar to transmission control unit problem...

I'm gonna take a guess that since you live on the small island of Trinidad and you imported the car, there actually isn't a Mazda dealer.

The codes give you clues to what the problem is, clearing them just lets you trip them again.
All of those codes are general PCM (ECU) getting bad signal codes. P0A8D is an istop malfunction. The 15 amp and 40amp fuse are listed as possible culprits, along with the general PCM bad signal problem. P061b is about an error in engine torque calculation, which is limiting your engine speed. u0401 is specifically a bad signal from the driveline/transaxle. B11D4 is regarding a discrepancy between the speed the laser is showing for deceleration vs actual deceleration speed; an error with the laser, or a clogged brake line is the listed possible cause. Of the few users in the above mentioned thread who actually had the resource to pull codes, they were pulling transmission codes, none of which you seem to be pulling. The easiest thing to check in this situation are the harness plugs on the front body control module and the ECU. You can pop the Front BC module loose with a flat head screwdriver and check to see that the (3?) wiring harnesses are not loose in the bottom of it. They plug into it vertical. same thing with the ECU, make sure the harness connectors in it are actually plugged in all the way. Unplug the battery before doing so and clear the code before starting again to see if they come back.

If it is an ECU update, unless you have some place that can get you a mazda hex file (i.e an actual mazda dealer) you would have to go through an engine tuner who could give you via mazda edit/versa tune a newer hex for istop equipped cx-5's. But that only will solve a software issue if it's related to the ECU/PCM.

Also.. for very cheap you can diagnose and clear your own codes, which might be really helpful for you as an importer

There is a mazda dealer but the prices are ridiculous. A model like mine would sell for like US$60000. I imported a used one doing like 70000 kms but the dealers dont allow them in their garage even though you are willing to pay. The guy who came by me to reflash works at Mazda. Thanks for the help. I really appreciate it. Will post updates.

i replaced battery today...same problem...i bought a bluetooth obd2 adapter...any guidance as how to use this tool to diagnose problem is welcomed

Used Forscan......

You have a lot of errors. I would start by giving a close look to the entire wiring harness. You may have had a rat or other rodent cutting wires. Just had that happen on a G35, started tracing circuits and pulled the battery to get to the relays and computer terminals and discovered several cut wires...

I changed the MAF sensor...problem solved. Thanks for all the help.
Very curious how did you trace to MAF sensor from all of those unrelated error codes? Nice to know your issues had been resolved!

Well I used FORscan and noticed 0.00 g/sec - Mass Air Flow...from my reading online, MAF malfunction affects transmission and ABS to which all the other codes were related...I got a technician to confirm MAF was dead...

Nice find! But I swear you should get MFA malfunction error code if the MFA is the culprip. Very strange... (scratch)(scratch)(uhm)(uhm)

Its the second code in above list:Code: P0102 - Mass or Volume Air Flow Circuit Low Input

Now I see it and thanks for pointing it out! Still one bad sensor produced so many unrelated errors is a mystery to me. (uhm)
