Ok, so this morning, the ambient temperature was 50F degrees according to the car's outside temp reading... started the engine and drove around slowly in first gear. It tool exactly 11 minutes for the coolant temperature to go from 46F degrees to 180F degrees... and, note, it appears that 180 - 190F degrees is full normal coolant operating temperature.

Also, did assorted driving today, stop and go as well as steady 70 mph highway cruising. Coolant temperature was at 186F the majority of the time, but still fluctuated between 180 and 191. Never got above 191.

While cruising, the intake air temperature was never more than about 2 or 3 degrees warmer than what the car's ambient temperature gauge read.

So, nothing too shocking here, but just figured I'd report on some of my gauge readings.

So, you can figure that on a 50F degree morning, it'll take a good 10 -15 minutes for the coolant to reach full operating temperature.

But also keep in mind, just because the coolant is up to operating temperature does not mean that the oil and rest of the engine is also up to full operating temperature. As I had mentioned in another thread, on my Vette (which has an oil temperature gauge), on average, it will often take the oil TWICE as long to reach full operating temperature than the coolant.

Thanks for all of the info DailyDriver. I still cant beleive the lack of gauges on this car. Oil Pressure and coolant temp should be standard on any performance car in my opinion.
