it keeps the oil from sloshing around and bubbling when you are turning and such (like in autocross racing or fast runs through twisties)

MORE IMPORTANTLY

is the balance shaft delete kit.

this is a way to remove the balance shaft (many people believe this is the cause of many of the 3rd cylinder engine blow-ups)
at a minimum you are removing about 18lbs of rotating mass so there is a nice gain in throttle response and get go once removed. Also with this massive piece of useless metal removed, there is room for an added quart of oil!

the downside is a few added vibes but i haven't noticed any.
