Most desirable Miata

Hi Guys,

I've been saving for a speed3, but I came across a 2002 Miata special edition in titanium grey with baseball glove leather seats. The car is stunning. 70K miles for $12,500.

What are the opinions of these cars compared to other miata models and the speed3?

thanks!

It's like comparing apples to digital cameras..... they're pretty much totally different. In pretty much every way.

speed 3 all the way, unless you want to spend a butt-load to go as fast as ne. be patient and wait.

It depends. Do you want to go fast in a straight line? Or do you want a light, nimble drop top 2 seater that just begs you to beat on it harder... They're pretty much polar opposites on the sporty car spectrum.

Ok, how about forget the speed3 for now. What is considered the best miata, or best for the money?

Feel like I can get a kick ass used miata for about half the cost of the speed3 anyway.

I read that the 2002 se was way overpriced at production time ($28k) but since prices have dropped, it's worth considering. I'm coming from an Audi S4, so I really need something economical, reliable and fun to drive.

Thanks guys!

don't get a miata, they are slow, and just not practical for everyday driving. Not comfortable at all, and they are rattle traps, especially one with 70k miles.

You can get a late 90's Miata for $2k and dump what it woulda cost to pickup a MS3 and you'll take it in a straight line as well as in the corners.

I purchased my demon spawn for $1,500 over 2 years ago. It was shitty red with blemishes EVERYWHERE! parts were missing and it ran like crap...but it had that GReddy turbo kit already attached. Sure I blew the motor within 2 months of ownership...but thats ok...Kevin (KCBHIW) tackled a rough job and I ended up with a gem of a car...even made centerfold for a national magazine a year later. Been through hell and high water...but the fact that I get to drop the top & enjoy a RWD turbocharged go-kart is just about enough for me. Don't let your money do the thinking...but you CAN go my route.
