Mazda3 OEM Wheel & Tire Sizes

I'm seeing this question being asked more and more so I'll make a sticky here that members can look up:

    15-inch:
    Width - 6.0 inches
    Offset - 52.5mm
    Tire size - P195/65R15 H-rated

    16-inch:
    Width - 6.5 inches
    Offset - 52.5mm
    Tire size - P205/55R16 H-rated

    17-inch:
    Width - 6.5 inches
    Offset - 52.5mm
    Tire size - P205/50R17 V-rated

Note: In N. American-spec, the Mazda3 2.3l engine is packaged with larger rotors, so any N. American-spec Mazda3 2.3l cannot go lower than 16-inch rims (brakes won't clear).

    Spare tire
    For 15-inch wheels: T115/70D15
    For 16 or 17-inch wheels: T125/70D16

    Edit: Bolt pattern is 5x114.3

17X7 with 42mm offset and 215/50/17 tires DO NOT rub at all with stock suspension. a 42mm offset actually pushes the wheels 16mm out further than stock, filling in some unwanted wheel gap.

this combo may rub with anything more than a 1" drop.

I know I posted this in the winter tire section, but I'll repost it here because it is a more appropriate thread. Here's the tire sizes and listings as far as what all the Mazda's take. (Tire list taken from the Mazda Tire Program book) This list applies to 2004 and 2005 models, and more than likely the 2006 models as well. Also keep in mind that the I model can be outfitted with the S model's tires (after upping the rim size) and the S model's tires can be outfitted with the S 5-door rims, as well. I don't know if you can downsize the rim size on the 5-door, but I would guess you can.

    Mazda 3 I:
    P195/65 R15:
    89H, Toyo Proxes A18, 154610, (AS) (OEM)
89H, Michelin Tiger Paw Touring HR, 57917, (AS)
    91Q, Bridgestone Blizzak WS-50, 062812, (W)

    Mazda 3 S:
    P205/55 R16:
    89H, Toyo Proxes A05, 154620, (AS) (OEM)
    89H, General/Continental Contitouringcontact CH95, 15463340000 (AS)
    91H, General/Continental Contitouringcontact CH95, 03513940000 (AS)
    89Q, Michelin Arctic Alpin, 58455 (W)
    91H, Bridgestone Blizzak LM-22, 093262 (W)

    Mazda 3 S 5 Door:
    P205/50 R17:
    88V, Goodyear Eagle RS/A, 732491500 (AS) (OEM)
    89H, Bridgestone Blizzak LM-22, 093327 (W)

    Plus "Zero" sizing

Does anyone know for sure what a good plus zero size on 17" stock wheels would be?
e.g. 215/45x17"; 225/40x17" I'm not sure how far I could go with a 6.5" wheel width, and keep the circumference as close to stock as possible.

'You sure about that? I can't seem to get a straight answer from most, but from 205 to 225 is over 3/4" difference (8.07" -8.86"= +.79".) It seems to me that the tire would bow out too much eliminating any positive affect on handling, braking, etc. What do you (or anyone here) think?

    8.07" 8.86"
    -6.5" -6.5"

    1.57" 2.36"

you have to remember that it will be even on both sides of the tire/wheel. so 3/4"= 3/8" on each side, which isn't much. if you're worried about it just put the OE size or the 215. 215/50 or 215/55 are discount tire's recommendation for plus 0. http://www.discounttiredirect.com/di...005&vid=008498

Hmmm. Interesting way of looking at it. I'll give that a try... the 225/45 x 17's I mean.
I think if I can find some good ones in that size it would be a better choice to maintain stock circumference, and speedo accuracy. Thanks again CP!
Yeah, Discount recommended a one up size for my wife's Saturn and I should have known that would be trouble... especially the way SHE drives!! I think she's actually a member of the Andretti family....? We went from the stock 175/70's to a 185/70. Now her speedo is off and she complains that the car "doesn't feel right, slides in the rain. Spins tires." And we went from a really cheap crappy GY to a Kumho!
