Engine Build Thread

I am starting to consider building a second engine rather than building the one in my car now..Upon searching, I realized that we have a HUGE amount of information on this topic, along with detailed descriptions of many different products that could be used during this process.....the only problem is that I have to scan through hundreds of threads to get it...

More and more people are starting to build engines, so why dont we have a localized thread as a sticky with all they need to know(or as much as we can provide)..

It should contain information such as....


Compatability(What cars have the same engines\transmissions\etc)
Aftermarket parts
Prices
Distributors

This seems as a great project for the moderators to look into, because im sure it would save TONS AND TONS of unneccessary posts..

i'd also add in a list of engine/tranny internals and current aftermarket forged parts that could replace them

such as rods, pistons, crank, differentials, shift forks, etc.
