Life expectancy of brake pads

I'll be rotating the tires and checking the percentage of the pads this weekend.... But I was just curious if there is a ballpark of the life of these pads? Is OEM going to give the most life or is there aftermarket pads that are better?

I've heard alot of P5ers need new pads around 30k.
I'm starting to get a wobble on moderade braking, and I'm at 25k.

ive heard around 30-40 as well. im at 24000 and looking ok yet.

Also at about 24k and looking good on pads, though I do need new tires soon.

after about 32k miles my steering wheel started wobling when braking and during hard breaking especially in the rain, the break light would come up. i changed them at 35k for oem and got an excellent price. i would think oem would give you the longest life although some of the aftermarket ones might give you shorter braking distances. as always, can't have both, gotta compromise., damn, damn, damn.
