If you still owe on your car, the very best you could do is break even because most likely you'll never catch the depreciation of your car until it's been paid off.
Believe me I have traded 3 cars in and I was only 19. I know....
That's why I'm never financing a car anymore unless I have a huge down payment so that I don't get screwed everytime I trade my car in for a better one.
