I got my car back from the dealership. They told me that they are still waiting for an updated firmware to fix this and they are aware of the issue. There is nothing they can do now but to wait for the firmware to come out.
Sad that this is the case.
Just encountered this problem today as well. Everything works fine from the home, music to navigation display. But when I enter an address to navigate, it reboots the system after a minute or so then it goes back to where the last display is. I cancelled the destination just to troubleshoot it and there it goes, no more rebooting.
And when I tried another address to navigate, the rebooting comes back again. The same scenario.
So I decided to stop using the navigation for now. Its seems like the problem is the navigation firmware? How do I fix this? Anybody had experienced this? Thanks.

Have the same issue as others have spotted - with infotainment system crashing. Only way I've figured out to save the system from restarting is by leaving the USB ports open - without thumb drive / mobile phone attached.
I used a 32GB FAT32 formatted thumb drive. Tried different manufactured drives & size - but no help.
So even after this firmware update, the screen still went blank once today!

I will keep you posted by next week and see if it is less frequent...
I manually updated to 59.00.441 NA N tonight. Will be interesting to see my results with it.
Correct, did without dealer. Took about 20 - 30 minutes.Forty9er
Did you do the update yourself without the dealer? If so will you tell me how you got the firmware so I can do the same? Thanks!

that's not good,
so do you need to stop the vehicle to reboot if there is a blank screen ? or can you use the back-nav-mute method while still driving.
if latter, that's annoying as hell but livable until they get it fixed,
if former, that's just unacceptable.
Here you go! If you have any question’s I can try to help (for faster response PM me), but this was my first time doing this as well. I’m not sure how the dealer does the updates, they may follow these steps or they may not (I’m assuming they do).
YOU ALWAYS HAVE THE RISK OF BRICKING (BREAKING!!) YOUR UNIT. IF THAT IS TOO MUCH OF A RISK, DON’T MANUALLY DO THE UPDATE AND LET THE DEALER DO THE UPDATE!!!!
You’ll need to format a 2.0 USB flash drive that is between 2-16GB FAT32! The only thing that should be on the flash drive are the two update files (make sure to download firmware 59.00.441 NA if you have the North American Mazda Connect/Infotainment unit).

Make sure to use the touchscreen during the update process and not the dial knob as stated in step 6 of the following post!
You may have to register to that site. I did and they have some useful information regarding the infotainment unit.

The other cool tool they have is the All-in-one (AIO) tweak tool (I used version 1.5). You basically are able to tweak the infotainment system with some cool features/apps. For instance, you can add a speedometer to display. You can remove the warning that displays on start-up and several other features (ability to watch videos from a USB drive!! Still working on getting this to work in mine. I can see the video but not able to hear it).
If you’re interested in getting more information on that, please go here.

Like I stated above, you can brick your unit using that AIO tool. I was able to add some of the features with no issues (I used the tool after I updated to 59.00.441).
Good luck, if you have any questions post here or PM me.

Exactly! Why blame the software? Software is identical 1s & 0s in every car from the factory. Hardware can have varying values. Try new hardware.
