Has an iOS Bluetooth Shuffle Fix Ever Been Found?

:
2013 CX-9 Sport
I've read around and it seems like the complaining has long since died down, but can't see where any real resolution has been found for the inability to easily get iOS devices to shuffle. I have a 2013 CX-9 Sport and ever since I drove it off of the lot when I connect my iPod Touch 5G to play music via Bluetooth it plays in alpha order. I know the symptoms are documented well enough in a hundred places online, but the shuffle function becomes disabled on the iPod when connected and you can't toggle it back on. I use the voice command workaround, but "Shuffle All" all too often gets understood as "Phone Call" and it takes me too many attempts to get it to shuffle. I had my dealer install TSB #09-008/15 but all that really did for this issue is disable the shuffle button on the headunit. I really don't understand how this could be so hard for Mazda to resolve.

Has anyone found a solution that allows iOS devices to shuffle properly on the factory radio?
