As the title says my 2003 Protege5 has started idling rough when the A/C is turned on. The RPM's are usually stable at 750, then turn on the A/C and it drops to 600, picks back up and stabilizes at 750 then repeats ever few minutes.
A little history, I bought the vehicle with 144,650 miles and it was in need of some work. I did the following pretty much in the order listed:
Brakes/Rotors
Alternator
Coil Packs
Catalytic Convertor
A/C Compressor
O2 Sensors
Timing Belt/Idler Pulley/Tensioner Pulley & Spring
Water Pump
AEM Short Ram CAI
Stainless Steel Catback Exhaust
Oil Change
Purge Valve
Power Steering Sensor
Camshaft Seals
Crankshaft Seal
Valve Seals
Spark Plugs
Heater Inlet Hose
Now at 145,432 miles this issue has started not to much longer after the Valve Seals, Spark Plugs and Heater Inlet Hose were replaced.
I have read that it may be:
1) Vacuum Leak (I can't find anything yet but will be buying some Carb Cleaner to spray around to see if I can find a leak)
2) EGR
3) IAC
Any thoughts or recommendations on how I should approach this?
