stock 2009 MP3 single CD player not accepting/ejecting discs

Today I went to eject the disc, Pressed the eject button, nothing happened, pressed the CD function button, said no disc. I took the head unit out and wound the disc out manually, refitted the head unit, Won't accept a disc. Took it back out and stripped the deck again, tested the mech position/loading switches, they are all good. Does anyone have any other suggestions?
 
Well, personally, I would burn "Mazda5 only" copies of all your CDs so you don't cry when you lose them. Other than that, replace the unit or get used to radio only.
When my head unit decided to stop ejecting discs, I ignored the problem for about a month, then it ejected them all just fine. Haven't put another disc in since.
