Hello,
I had to get into my 1999 Mazda Protege ES's driver side door panel to replace a lock actuator and a window regulator. I found good info about both on this forum, though I struggled with the door panel. While I was taking it off, I wished I had X-Ray Vision to see exactly what was back there. Now that I have it off, I thought a picture might be appreciated.
Shown is the driver's door panel. There are six fasteners holding it on. The four marked as "pop-out" just pop out like most of them. The ones that caused me trouble are marked "slide". If you look carefully, you will see that once the first 4 fasteners are popped out, the last two "slide" out. Popping them out first (because you don't have X-Ray vision) will probably ruin them.
Thanks for the Forum, I get a lot of use out of it.
