My 2002.5 P5 AwesomeSauce build thread

Nice, hope they last a long time for me. Yep, I got the wheel clear also. Two wheels are done and drying now. Need to finish sanding the other two

Alright, lots of parts are coming in the mail. Just gonna wait till everything arrives so I can make a list of the items that I have. Exciting to have so many car parts coming in! Christmas is early this year!

Some things that have changed on the car is the I got rid of the god awful auto zone pedals that I had with OEM goodness. Just the regular rubber kind, not the mazdaspeed.

The two remaining shims I needed are here and now I'm just waiting on valve guides. Once they come in, the head will be ready for the machine shop. Going to double check all the clearances before I send the head off just to be sure.

I also switched my PCV valve to the Millenia S valve hoping that would solve my oil burning issues but it didn't :( Thinking it may be pistons rings or valve stem seals at this point now. Looking more at the piston rings.

Wish I could send my block and head off but i'd rather buy all the parts I need first and then send everything off to get machined. Still need a few more expensive parts left before everything is all good to go.

exhaust manifold studs, oil prv, wastegate, radiator, clutch, flywheel, turbo, ecu, engine mounts. Still have a lot of $$ to spend lol.

I'm getting my pump from Brian Lawlor of signature products. Getting a bypassed oil pump so I can regulate the pressure externally. Doing so will greatly reduce oil starvation that the FS is prone to.

Temporarily fixed the hollow door sound when closing and opening with a paper towel lol. Going to get silicone or some type of adhesive to fix it permanently.

Been watching your build progress for a while now, and gotta say your build along with Jackie chans are goals lol.

Keep up the great work you guys!

~$145 for the pump, ~$144 for the prv, and around 100-200 for the fittings and lines. I'm using a oil filter relocation kit also. Not sure how that setup would work with just the oil sandwich plate you have

I hopefully have a good shot of the oil gauge from this last race. I have not seen the oil gauge dip anywhere other than when the engine is very close to idle like during a braking zone. I will more than likely going to install a http://www.accusump.com/

But will see with what info I can get from the video.

Just my 2cents.

I could still use a relocation kit with the sandwich plate. Once installed it's like it's not there.

Oh yeah that's right, wasn't thinking lol. The relocation kit I bought has two 1/8 NPT ports on the filter side which i'm going to use for an oil feed for the turbo, that why I didn't get a sandwich plate.

I really don't see myself going to the track that often after everything is all put together and running so that might be kinda overkill for my street build lol.

Look what I did today!

Just test fitted the driver side. Going to go with a wider spacer for the front and remove some camber in the rear. Also going to raise up the car once I finish the other two wheels.

Hey man can you pm me the oil pump service info? I emailed DocB but no response...
