I was just told that when my 2011 CX-9 hits 60,000, I need to have the spark plugs changed. Mazda wants to charge me $250 + tax to do the job. I priced the parts, 6 spark plugs and 3 plenum gaskets totaling $57.

Is this job that labor intensive? I can't find instructions on youtube or online. Does anyone have detailed instructions, video or advice? I want to do this myself but I would like to have something to go by. Thank you.

Dude, whoever told you 60k is on crack. Look in your owners manual. I'm at 76k miles and plan to replace them some time between 80k and 100k, whenever I get around to it / have all the parts needed like gaskets and stuff / when there is warm weather / whenever I am well stocked with beer

i just did.

schedule 1 (easy miles more or less) calls for new spark plugs every 100k miles.

schedule 2 calls for them every 60k miles.

guess which schedule most dealers use?

boooooo transverse engines...
