2012 cx9 GT options questions

About to buy a 2012 CX9 GT and have a couple questions about options before buying.

1. Does reverse aim the side mirrors down?

2. Side mirrors auto dim like rear view mirror?

3. Pass seat fold flat?

That's all Ive got for now.. I'm sure I'll have more. Will report back if I buy. It's a certified 2012 GT with 44k miles for $23.4k with every option but rear dvd entertainment. Not a terrible deal right?

I can answer #2 and #3 for you: Nope.

#1 you'll have to wait for a 2012 GT owner to answer, as the 2013+ GT does have it, but I don't know about pre-redesign.

burley, you can check if it has the auto tilt down feature when you test drive it. The switch for the power mirrors just needs to be either in the left or right position (as in, not in the middle). When you put it in reverse, the mirrors (if the 2012's have this feature) will automatically point down. If the mirror switch is in the middle though, this will not happen.

The side mirror tilt in reverse feature was added to the 2013 CX-9 GT, but it wasnt available on the 2012. The side mirror position also became part of the memory system in 2013.

The side mirrors are not auto-dimming, just the rearview mirror. The passenger seat also does not fold flat.

I have a 2012 CX-9 GT and I havent really missed any of these features. The main options on the 2012 GT were the Moonroof/Bose/Sirius Package, which also required adding the Power Liftgate, and Navigation. A Rear Seat Entertainment System (RSES) with Bose/Sirius Package was available in lieu of the Moonroof/Bose/Sirius Package. It deleted the Power Moonroof and added a DVD player with a fold-down 9 display for 2[SUP]nd[/SUP] row passengers. The RSES Package cost an additional $800 and deleted the moonroof, so it wasnt nearly as popular.

I chose the Moonroof/Bose/Sirius Package + Power Liftgate for my 2012 CX-9 GT, but I didnt get the Navigation system. You may run across the odd CX-9 GT with no options once in a while, but I strongly recommend avoiding these and finding one with the optional Bose audio system, its worth it! Models with Bose audio or Navigation have a far more useful backup camera display also. On models w/o Bose or Nav, the camera display is shown in a small area of the rearview mirror.
