Front Strut parts needed

I am planning to change out my front struts early next week. I've researched online and it seems like a fairly straight forward job.

Anyone have any tips particular to the CX-9?

Other than the struts, strut boots, and strut mounts, are there any other parts I should plan on replacing? I have a grand touring CX-9 with AWD which has almost 100k miles. For the struts and strut boots, I've read that KYB are good. For other parts, are there any particular brands I should be looking at? (I've read MOOG is a pretty safe bet- is that true?)

As a side note, there seems to be 2 different engines for this vehicle listed when I look through online parts finders. How do you know which kind I have?

Specifically to a cx-9 I have no advice. But we have a fleet of farm trucks, and I know first hand, Moog can take the abuse. I always use Moog whenever possible. Just my .02

the 2007 cx-9 had a 3.5 liter v6 and the 2008+ have a 3.7 liter v6.
