I am about to go buy a 2002 Mazda P5 and I need some help with this. I have never owned a Mazda and know nothing about them besides the few things I have looked up. Before I go and buy I want some opinions and advice from some current owners! First of all i need to know where the transmission sits in the car. Seeing this is a front wheel drive car I am assuming that it is sitting beside the engine and not along the center of the car behind the engine (Please confirm this). Second, this car is an automatic. What am i looking at as far as cost to get it converted to a manual. And third, the car does need a new torque converter in it, any suggestions on what I should do, convert the trans or replace the torque converter?
