My hubby and I were out and about running our typical Sunday errands when suddenly the SUV shifted hard and an AT and check engine warning light appeared. The dashboard is showing that the car is in 5th gear, but the RPMs are not high. I am afraid to continue driving the car so I got a rental, but I am worried about what might be going on. I have an appointment to take the car into the dealer in the morning. Has this happened to any of you. I read somewhere on the Net that it may simply be caused by an electrical issue with the automatic transaxle sensor. Any advise would be greatly appreciated. I really don't want to get ripped off at the dealership by my ignorance.
