Circuit's 03.5 Protege5

FINALLY got the axles out. The tie rod ends were frozen in the hubs too so I had to rotate the entire hub/axle assembly just to spin out the tie rod ends. Needless to say that s*** was heavy lol. Got an extra pair of hubs and had new OEM bearings and studs installed for piece of mind. New axles from rock auto are already here. Just need new tie rod ends, and the install new control arms with whiteline bushings and the front suspension will be like new.

holy crap. super bad luck with the axles man lol. my left side was seized. i wonder if my right side will be the same

What benefits are there to blocking off the coolant flow to the throttle body?

Slight power increase since hot coolant isn't flowing through the TB. Hot air = less power. This should only be done in climates where it does not reach freezing temps as the coolant keeps the throttle from sticking shut. I mainly did it for aesthetics.

Engine and transmission finally back together. Will get them into the car this coming weekend.

GF helped me drop the motor in tonight. There's a slight clearance issue with the PS reservoir and the coil packs, but that can be easily remedied this weekend. You can also see the AWR side mounts. One hole on the passenger side isn't threading in, so I think I need to just bend it down a little bit.

So clean , I wish I had more time to clean up my engine / engine bay when I did my rebuild. Probably wouldn't have mattered because my oil pan gasket started leaking a week later..

Thanks! Oil pan is so low on the motor, cleaning always helps!

Remounted the coil packs since they were hitting the PS can. Wish I hadn't written on that side of the harness/coils LOL

Pulled the header so I could respray it with the same high temp silver and satin clear as the rest of the bay. I wish it would run like this LOL

What are you doing for a battery tie-down? I've been after a clean solution for a while with no luck.
