    USB Greyed out on 2014

I just bought a new CX5 on Saturday and am just learning to use all the functions. I wanted to hook up my Ipod but the USB tab is greyed out. Does anyone know how to make this work?

    Thanks.

You are not very clear. Did you actually connect the device with the usb cable, or just want to hook it up.

Have you also stuck in a usb memory stick?

No memory stick, but I did plug in the cord to the Ipod.

On the audio display the word "USB" is greyed out. All other choices are illuminated. I connected the Ipod and nothing changes.

    Thanks.

try plugging in a usb thumbnail drive. if it turns on then it could be that it's not compatible with the ipod. Just buy a 32gb thumb drive for $15 and put all your music on that and plug it in.

I just use a thumb drive in the slot on my MS3. All music from my phone is via bluetooth and the pandora app
