Had a play with the exhaust the weekend..... test fit of some parts..

Couldn't get one of the rear flange nuts off >:( so had to play with the old system hanging around & let the back axle drop to
accommodate it ::)



What planet was I on when i measured the front flange ???






The section at the front where the 5" 2"bore 14" long stainless box will go....


"S" bend at the rear...


Didn't realize how snug my fit was until i put the original back on.....








Hopefully the back will have the 3" slashed tips.....


P.S. Heat shield came off while i was wrestling with the exhaust to get it out the way >:(



Penny washers to the rescue....

The test fit was well worth the while, threw up more problems that it fixed :'(

Took my Corksport SRI filter off to clean... loads of muck in it, threw up engine light when it went back on - too high flow (doh)







Clamp gave up aswell (eek2) time to order another one from fleabay ???

Well.... a piece of gash plate from the scrap metal place 1

A hours work in the workshop with the hole saws, jig saw & grinder..... ;D

Also, didn't somebody mention that they were going to try a dual center exhaust setup?

The family for putting up with pipe all over the house & me laid under the car for several days.... :'(
My mate Mark for all the welding, abuse, why the F*** did you decide to make it yourself... ;D

Surprising how the pipe work ended up as it looked so simple laying it out on the floor & doing a few measurements under the car
would have been nice to have the front piece mandrel bent then put the box in...

Decided that it was too loud for the run down to "Japfest 2" so made some baffles...

Took them out the weekend & re-packed them with wadding.....





The right number of holes to suit half the flow but didn't take into account the 2" to 1 1/2" restriction to get to the holes :(


Think they might be a bit restrictive ? possibly open up the rear washer....




Or try some 1" 1/4 or 1" perf & have another go ::)

Exhaust looks nice, and I think that red piping will look good in the doors. I don't know what your interior looks like, but it would perfectly match the US touring model.
 
wow, looking good Cosh, now could you help me with a problem, im looking at having a custom exhaust made for me from a shop, but I don't know what kind of sizes I want, I don't want a tinny overly loud exhaust, just want a nice rumble that goes with the CS SRI noise as the engive gains revs, and obv a bit of power added lol. im thinking of just a straight through to a backbox, keeping the stock manifold with monitored cat though.

Got the Halo's fitted & wired up, not that bright in the day but dusk & they look good the fogs
just seem to be lit up not blazing like they are with the fogs on....



Look ok with the LED sides....

Need to get the silver bits with the air vents off & change them.....
