i just took a 2-hour golfing trip. drove 260 miles, mostly highway, and got 26.8 mpg. That's with a car of 3 grown men and 3 sets of clubs in the back, going 75 most of the way. I am quite sure i could have squeezed at least another mile or two out of the gallon if i would have gone 70 instead of 75. I am not upset by that mileage, but i am going to look for it to improve.
I am taking a trip down to Kemah later today (about 100 miles round-trip all highway), and that plus my normal city driving should give me something higher than 26.
I am not too worried about gas mileage with my CX-5. As long as it is better than my 2010 Mazda3 hatchback (24.5 mpg), i will be happy.
