    Aftermarket Backup Camera

Since I have a base model and my depth perception isn't that good, I thought I would give the following backup camera a try:

The one issue is that the camera is rather bulky and is supposed to go over the license plate. It actually attaches to the back of the license plate via an adhesive. Relative to other manufacturers, this camera is just plain big and seems to invite vandals or thieves.

However, does anyone have experience with using such a large backup camera? Would you be okay with it or is it better to get something less noticeable, even just from an aesthetic point of view?

I really like the price and the fact it's wireless so there isn't a need to run wires from the back to the front. As well, the screen fits perfectly in the little compartment below the clock that always seems to be empty in my car.

You are still going to have to wire the back up signal and the ground so it is not totally wireless. I had a large backup camera that was actually part of the license plate frame and did not like it for aesthetic reasons. I wound up buying a wired one. and mounted it under the tail gate door handle bracket. See below thread for what I did.

    Thanks for the link.

This pic below shows what my camera would look like.

What model of camera do you have? I prefer the look of yours much better.

As to the wiring, I assume you just used the power from the reverse lights?

Here is the one I bought. However it is wired. Yes I wired it to the backup lights.
