    air conditioner/condensor/fan problem

Alright! My wife has a 2008 mazda cx-7 2.3 turbo. Everything under the hood runs flawlessly after a cold start. When the a/c is turned on the fans begin to cycle and the a/c blows nice and cold...BUT....if it is anywhere from 90 degrees or hotter outside, and the car is at opperating temp., the fans try to turn on but only stay on for a max of 2-3 seconds, and the a/c compressor does the exact same as the fans. This causes the a/c to blow warm air. Everytime we reach above 30mph the a/c is blowing "air conditioned" air again. I understand that this is because there is no air flowing through the condenser, but there is optimal air flow at speed. My question is, what could be causing the fans to shut down when is it very hot outside? Any insight is greatly appreciated!

Ok, so the problem has been fixed, i decided to post the outcome incase this happens to someone else. The A/C compressor was replaced about 3 months before the problems started (during spring when it wasn't so hot) because the compressor pulley locked up. My wife was out of town at the time so she took the car to the nearest mechanic she could find. When he replaced the compressor and recharged the system he overcharged it with r134-a. This was causing the high pressure cutout switch to kick off the system to prevent damage to the compressor. In other words, mazdas kick ass! I went to auto-zone and bought a gauge, plugged it into the low pressure port and found it was overcharged, I let some pressure out until I got the the normal pressure range. It is 101 degrees outside. i drove the car around for about 30-40 minutes and the a/c blew cold air the entire time, fans would kick on to cool the condenser every single time i stopped. I hope this helps someone else out later!

thanks, good to know. I have an 09 cx-7 GT AWD, but I'm from Canada. I hope that if I ever have a similar problem, I'll remember your fix. I have not had any issues as yet, but it has not gotten to 101 where I live, even though it has gotten into the 90's and the humidity can get up there too.

i am on my 3rd ac compressor either from not blowing cold, locking up, or making a loud noise.
    all replaced under warranty......

it doesnt blow very cold when temps are over 100 F degrees and you have to be continuosly moving to get some relief.
