CX-5 Photos - Share your shots with us!

my 5 with tech has the levelers in it supposedly (along with steerable lights)

I've done some country driving now, and find both the AFS and auto levelling features work extremely well. The levelling feature ensures the lights hit a perfect line on the vehicle in front. Very impressed with the headlights.

Thanks for the explanation on the washers. How do they work exactly? Do they just spray a jet of washer fluid on the headlights and let the wind blow dry it as you're driving? Also, in the pics, they just look like covers. Do they pop out whenever they are in use? Apologies for the dumb questions, but I obviously have no experience with these.

The exposed cap is a cover. They cover arms that come out (at rapid speed) and spray jets at the whole light. Much stronger than the windscreen washer but it shares the same reservoir as the front/rear windscreen washers. It's so strong it can bounce off the lights and onto other vehicles. Quite a show.

Search for "xenon washer demo" on youtube and you'll get a general idea of what happens.

I don't get my Cx5 till June but my Mazda 3's washer comes on as mentioned, but also a few seconds after the main wash, it does another spray. Is the CX the same?

Sky Blue looks great.

Also, I find that the photos don't do enough justice to the car - CX-5 looks even more impressive in person.

Did anyone buy floor mats from the dealer? I'm wondering if the dealer mats are the same as weathertech... in terms of fitting?

Thanks,

I bought the dealer all-weather mats. They're okay, but you should definitely hold off for the weather tech ones.

I have the dealer all-weather mats and they do not move at all as the have the same floor clips as the carpet mats. The back seat mats do not clip in. I also have the all-weather trunk liner and that is the greatest!!! Worth every penny!!!! For Canadians, look on ebay and order in the States as you will save more than 50% from dealership prises in Canada.

I think so. I need to do another video. In the UK, washers are compulsory by law as well. So you will have washers.

Finally got mine today (a GT with the Tech Pack) ...sorry for the pics (ipod touch....) I will post better ones when the weather will be nicer...

My previous cars before that were, a 2000 Subaru 2.5Rs, a 2004 WRX wagon, and then a 2007 Outlander XLS and now the CX-5. The Outlander was great to be honest, nothing to complain except maybe the fuel consumption.

I will be adding the grey roof rails to mine in the next few weeks...I know the car looks a lot better without them, but I really need them, 2 bikes to carry and 2 kayaks. So we will see.

I'm extremely happy with the quality of the "base" model. The interior is great and the exterior is just as sporty as the Grand Touring, smaller wheels aside.

Can you post some good pics of the seats? I'm worried about the 'cheaper' sport material. Do the seats feel comfortable? Did you try a Touring model seat to compare? What are the adjustments of the Sport seats? (looks like just height and front/back slide) How do you drop the back seats down since they don't have the lever like the touring or GT?

Sorry for all the questions, the nearing dealer for me is 90 miles, and the nearest dealer with a sport manual is 3.5 hours away. There are NO good pics on the web of the Sport interior.

Thanks

I felt the seat fabric on the Sport model is pretty good. Touring model's cloth seems slightly nicer. Seat adjustment is 6-way (including seat angle), sufficient.

Don't recall how to put the backseat down, other than it wasn't much of an issue.

The only reason to go with Sport would be the 6MT, otherwise get the Touring by all means.

I don't have any photos at the moment and the weather's kind of crappy here now, so I'll just try to answer your questions.

The seats are comfortable. They are on the firm side of automotive seats in-general and they have modest bolstering, which means that compared the seats in any other car in this segment the feel like freakin' Recaros. But its really quite mild. The basic Sport Seats in the VW Golf TDI and Mini Cooper are way less enjoyable.

I did sit in the leather seats in a CX-5 on the showroom floor. They seemed the basically they same but with leather. I think the "premium cloth seats" are really similar to the base but have some more attractive detailing.

Adjustments are tilt, foward/back and up/down. The up/down lever is press down to go down, pull up to go up, which is how most manual levers of that type work.
