    Rear cabin heating/cooling

Interested in purchasing a cx9. When looking at the vehicle it seemed the rear cabin hvac vents were just behind the front seats.
Nothing midway or in the rear cabin area. My Acadia has too many hvac vents to count.....in the rear cabin area.
Any problems with heating or cooling in the mid or rear cabin area? Thanks so much.

The vents for the rear seat (3rd row) are beneath the 2nd row seats.
In Auto mode, only hot air comes out from there.

Thanks for the info. Sales rep was unaware of the 3rd row vents.

    That is normal, isn't it?

Do not expect to get any useful information out of a car sales person, ever. It is amazing how little they know about the vehicles they sell. Or, they have information but withhold it because they realize that car purchases are typically made based on emotions rather than factual analysis. In any case, yes, there are vents on the floor for heat for the third row but the third row does not have vents for cool A/C air.

I commend anyone who uses a CX-9's third row on a regular basis. Supposedly this new Infinity JX has second row seats that somehow fold forward even with carseats installed. I don't understand the physics of this.

Any problems keeping the 2nd or 3rd row area cool with AC?

    What I do...
Put the A/C to "Rear Control" and my kids would put the fan to max.
It will cool down in 1 or 2 minutes.

I'll tell you what, that whole deal with the center console hot air from the bottom vents only and cool air from top vents is very strange. Do the new CX-9's operate in this fashion as well? if not, I think it would be worth it to swap some parts out.

    Only in AUTO mode, though.
Hot air moves upwards, cold air moves downwards.
It makes sense in AUTO mode.
The true issue is there should be another vents on the sides for the 3rd row.
