Would the XXR 527 17x8.25 +25 offset with a bolt pattern of 5x100 fit on a mazdaspeed protege?

No... Our bolt patter is 5x114. As far as width and offset goes, they will fit but you might have to roll your fenders.

Yep wrong bolt pattern and +25 offset would sit about 10mm past the fenders. I wouldn't go any more aggressive than a +35 offset or so.

I see other people running 17x9.75 +25

Yeah but they are also running an AAC link kit, stretched tires, pulled fenders, and lots of camber. A 9in wheel with that low of an offset doesn't fit our cars unless you make It fit. An 8 inch wheel on the other hand with a low offset will fit and feel the fenders real well.
