My New STF project...

Nice! Does FEAL have an off the shelf system for the 2, or did Odi just make those up for you?

He was awesome, he just custom re-valved the front K-Sports to match the springs, the Rear still the AST's . Cars feels very balanced and under control, we'll see how she does against the fastest in the country...very soon....

After a disappointing results at Nationals, due to the "dirty" driving, had the chance to evaluate the present situation of the Mazda 2 for STF at National Level in comparison with the new comers. Besides some suspension set up mods and weight reduction, a mandatory increase in power is needed. So since I am back in Minnesota I will be working locally with one of the bests in the business up here for dynos and mechanical support, and tuning via remote with a guy with an impeccable reputation.

So step one baseline dyno at RSMOTORS Mustang Dyno : 123.7 HP / 117.2 TQ.

Step two: He proceeded to evaluate other causes of power loss or room from improvement. So changes in the Intake and exhaust department need to be done to optimize performance.

Step three: evaluation and re-tuning of my ecu, this time since ECUNLEASHED does not offer custom tuning, I will be working with an awesome guy that has been working with the Mazda3 community for a while, and lately getting awesome reviews with the ND tuning. BTW he has offered a Turbo option for our cars as well !!!!

Step four: Suspension set up needs an upgrade

Step five: weight loss, during the last year some mods gave me 20 lbs. extra, time to cut back on the carbohydrates :)

Stay tuned..

PS. Any questions PM me

I am about get a remote tune so I needed a baseline of what the actual numbers were at that time before the tune. I took the car to a very good shop with a Mustang dyno , he did some changes to my set up, and those were the numbers before the remote tune with OVTuning. Still have to change the headers to gain more low end torque and probably 3-4 HP. I will think that 130hp to the wheels are possible with tune and new headers... we'll see

Tune done , suspension done, muffler done, weight loss 36+- lbs ; after first event my evaluation is that I got a 15% improvement from last year's set up. this video shows my poor driving of a very strong Mazda 2 , you can hear how soon the throttle response is now , car starts pulling strong form 2200 rpm.

first time driving with even tire pressure F/R, car had a tendency to loose the rear end, ,I need to find that point where the car is more neutral, just matter of testing and tuning suspension.

Thanks so much to Orange Virus Tuning for an incredible tune...

Set your speakers to hear the new muffler and persieve prompt acceleration:

I am curious as to your comment about having even tire pressures and how it makes the rear end slide out more. What pressures have you been running where the rear did not break out.
I have the same experience with my car and also run same pressures back to front, but have never really changed them around.
Car sounds great btw

Also curious about pressures. I've settled on 33/38 as my go-to pressures for dry events. With no sway bars it comes around very controlled and smoothly. I am going to up the rear spring rate(700/700 instead of 700/550) in an attempt to get more tail happy action, but in the same controlled manner(as opposed to abrupt snap lift oversteer I feel you get with a big rear bar).
