so i was on yuppie racing and i saw this thread and it looks wicked cool, and thought the mazda guys might think that its interesting too.

basically, its spray paint that once dried, comes off like a sticker and doesnt harm clear coat.

He did his entire car in 13 cans. twice

so now im thinking instead of painting my wheels, im going to plastidip them, that way i can do any color i want for about the same price as DIY, but i can change colors if/when i want to.

might try some trim pieces/badges if i feel up to it

updates as i progress

I used the stuff on my badges of my MS3. Matched the outside plastic trim really well. Not sure I would use it for more than just trim since it can basically peel off.

doesn't look bad

So today i went to home depot and advanced autoparts to check prices on both plastidip and other paint possibilities.

Plastidip is only $5.98 for a 11.5 oz. can. So figure a little over $6 w/ tax (i live in MA where almost everything is taxed...)
Whole car = 13 cans * $6 per can = $78. Wow.

I think id probably buy 3 cans to be safe for doing my wheels.

Home depot only carries flat black, so for custom colors you would have to go directly through plasti dip.
Their website has info for getting different colors
