Sux about the rash...what is it with people that can't park near curbs? As for the swap...I'd have to do some more research...not sure if I want to 'downgrade' to drums in the rear.
I'm sure the MX-5 badge is only secured by double sided tape. A little goo-gone and you should be good.
Personally, I'd lose the bezel around the third brake light as well but that's just me.

Tire selection for the 17's is weak. Widest you can go easily is 215 due to the relative sidewall height.
They're not that heavy. Only around 17lbs IIRC.

Haha, in all honesty, I have the Harddog Sport M2, so the rear braces actually have a bend in them. Yuno, if you're a stickler for details and such. Mine also has the "Zoom Freakin' Zoom" sticker on the roll bar.
