    How-To: Home Depot (HD) Lip

Okay, this is my how-to on the Home Depot Lip:

What you need is a garage door seal

Some 3M red double sided tape
    Image comming soon!

Some self threading screws or any screw that is not longer than 1 1/2 inches.
    A razor blade.

and thats it! total price for all is around $16.

here is how you do it:

    1. raise the car and put it on jackstands. you can do it with the car in its normal hight but I have better clearance whe the car is up.
    2. put the 3M tape on the door seal.
    pic comming soon!
    3. clean the bottom of your car, where the lip is going on.
    4. start putting the lip on the side of the car that you preffer and follow the line where the paint ends.
    5. you don't need to remove the plastic part in the middle just follow the line.

    6. when you are done cut the exess rubber with the razor blade

    7. screw the self threading well..screws in the beggining of the lip, where it curves under the fog, and in the diagonal parts where the bumper ends and the plastic part beggins. sorry for the dirty picture.

this is what you end up with

    you are done, congratulations!!

Great write-up and the pics definitely help. I might have to do this when I have a free weekend, since it sounds like its about a half hour job to complete.

Looks sweeet! I would do this in a heart beat, but my lower lip already rubs coming out of my driveway as it is ... I am sure this will rub all the time!

Does tape and a couple screws really hold this on at highway speeds?

I'd imagine that putting a few extra screws in wouldn't be a bad thing. Also, when you apply the 3M tape, be sure to prep the area with rubbing alcohol for better adhesion.

Yeah I just hate the idea of screwing into my bumper. Do youp prep the garage door sealer, bumper, or both with alcohol?

I'd suggest just the bumper. The door seal should be clean since its new and in a sealed bag, but it wouldn't hurt to give it a quick wipe. Just make sure that its dry before applying the tape.

for the lip I didn't but i did clean it really good, as for the grille,I cleaned it with rubbing alcohol and with 3M liquid primer. I just installed it and I'm doing a how-to on it also, those damn clips are crazy to get!
