coolmazda5: Thanks for the dimensions. Is there *anyway* to get something 36" tall to fit in there?

    Thumbs up

Well, we've been in the mist of moving for the past week and the 5 has been a real trooper. Over the weekend we did about 7 trips back and forth, full to the brim. The wife has been doing 2 roundtrips during the weekdays.
Can't compare to what our Odyssey could carry but this thing still has versatility. This weekend is the big move but that will mostly be taken cared of by a rental truck.

Thumbs up The 5 does it again.........

.....this time we bought an armchair at Cost Plus Imports. It was about 33x34x something. I measure the cargo area with the second row still up and it was close. When we loaded the chair, it was VERY close! The chair looked like a fitted piece of luggage in the cargo area ! JUST right.

The initial tip came from one of our MZ5 fellow members from Denmark, here you go:

Now, I tried them once and they are for kids, but hey, guess who's usually riding there?
it appears the "cargo model" is just a locally stripped out 5... you can see that the seat belt holes on the C pillars are still there... it wouldn't make sense to have the seat back tray tables nor rear interior trim there also if it was a factory built cargo van... the driver's seat rear guard also appears to be locally made... the parts catalog shows none of these parts nor show a 2 seater setup... the parts catalog only shows factory built parts of course, so any local modifications won't be in it

you mean 99-03 premacy? that's the old CP body style, not the CR which is the 5!

And what is your point? I'm not visually impaired to note that this is the 1st generation Premacy... yet many things stand, like its interior/cargo flexibility innit?

And I would mean 1999-2005 Premacy. The 2nd generation appeared until Summer of 2005 according to Wikipedia. If it is incorrect, I suggest to direct the issues to them. We never got it in this market so not a big deal for me...

The Sliding Door. MZ5's killer application

Used to be enjoyed exclusively by minivan owners, the sliding door
offers an advantage that MZ5 competition
    takes for granted.

Driver access to the baby seat is very easy
    and safe.

Imagine if it was a Rondo. A swing door would
be hanging in the middle pillar..

I should have taken pictures yesterday. We had 5 people and 1.5 carts of grocerys in the car by folding one back seat down. Held as much as the back of my full size GM wagon.

First tank of fuel was 26 MPG in 15 degree F weather.

Here are some pics from last year's camping trip.

When you jam pack the interior - one must go outside!!

That's the full size Yakima SpaceCase, not the smaller RocketBox. This year I'm looking to exchange that 3-bike rack for a 4-bike rack.

I'll likely get a few odd looks cruising down the highway again this summer!!!!

PS - that's a Yakima roof rack system with 48" bars.

Can anyone confirm the cargo capacity cubic footage with the 3rd row down? The Mazda Canada site says about 850 litres and the American site says 44.4 cu. feet. 850 litres is about 30 cu. ft. so the numbers don't add up. Anyone?

    According to cars.com:
    • 11.7 cubic feet behind the third-row seat for any luggage when those six seats are occupied
    • If it's not carrying six occupants, the Mazda5's measly cargo area can be expanded to 44 cubic feet by folding the third-row seat down.
    • With both the second and third-row seats folded, there's 89.3 cubic feet of cargo room
