Where is the Keyless Entry Control Module?

The keyless entry system in my 2002.5 P5 stopped working recently and I'm trying to troubleshoot it. Here are the symptoms:

1. All power lock buttons work correctly, and all the locks respond correctly.
2. The remotes do not lock, unlock, or activate the panic feature.
3. There are no audible clicks in the car when I press the remote buttons.

I've tried replacing the batteries in both remotes but nothing changed. Also, the door lock fuse is still good. Now I'm trying to see if the Keyless Entry Control Module is working, but I can't find it. In this thread, martinmzfan says:
3) Inspect Keyless Entry Control Module [located at rear deck pass side under deck cover, check for a bad connection/wire; more involved electrical troubleshooting, see workshop manual -- not for a novice]
but I don't know where the "rear deck" is. I'm in the process of going through the troubleshooting guide in the workshop manual (available at http://protege5.ugly.net/), and I've downloaded both parts manuals from http://www.floptical.net/mazda/ but the pictures in the parts manual aren't clear enough for me to figure out where to look. Any help would be very much appreciated!
