Tranny Noise? LSD Noise? Something grinding/scraping!

Help please, I too am a new P5 owner and I have a strange noise coming from the left side of my trans-axle. I took the car to Firestone today for a check up (I thought it was going to be the axle half shafts) and they said that the noise was coming directly from the tranny, where the axle enters the tranny!

My question, for those of you with LSD failure, what symptoms did you notice before it died? Do all P5's have the LSD?

How much for a new/better than stock LSD? installed?

Help, I love the car but I'm already ready to pull my hair out.

P5's do not have LSD's. Probably the bearing/bushing in the tranny.

Bought the car used with >47,000 miles on it. Has anyone else ran into this problem?

It's in the tranny shop today and I'll post the results from the inspection. I just hope it's not a new tranny!
