Hey! There were two guys working! Or Well you know I do work for the state........... The windshield removal was the main event for our local sports car club Christmas party. No, drinking and power tools don't mix, but everyone walked away with all their fingers.

Yep, all the wiring I pulled was around 20 lbs. My build is going on hold for a bit. The truck's heater core decided to give up the ghost at VIR this weekend. (Was crewing for a friend at the 13 hour)

Fuel rods receptical for my fusion reactor.. DUH! Actually it's the 22 pin weatherpack connector for the megasquirt. You can find it here: http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc4/hs786.snc4/66602_720287581001_25010126_39606273_3311001_n.jpg

Here's as far as I've made it on the car. I think I've got a plan going forward so progress should quicken from here.

MUCH easier to describe than to actually do. I'm up to "3 toggle switches, a big plug in my firewall and LOTS of scribbling in my build notebook" Andrew, Not one with the magic smoke?

Yep, I plan to take mine out, and gut the doors at the Christmas party for our local club. It should be lots of fun. My roll bar fabricator really wanted to see it out before he put in the custom bar. Those runs look good, really slippery in a few places but not bad at all.

Sorry I couldn't see much in those videos. There was that bloody windshield that keeps getting in the way! :)

Yep so far I'm impressed with their goods. The challenges I'm coming up with are things like, Do I need separate fuses for each of the 2 alternator power lines?(1 80 and 1 30 amp from the factory) and what do I do with the 3rd line that ran to the cluster(a cluster that I don't have and don't...

Yep, it looks like I'll have to switch tires before it's first run. In some ways that sucks since they're "free" and was hoping to use them for the first couple of events while I sort out everything else. I've been sick for the past week so I haven't had a chance to do anything on the car...

No They're BBS wheels. There was a set of Keizer wheels available as well, but the offset and size was wrong. (13x.6.5 and 6.25") Andrew, What ride heights and total wheel travel distances are you looking at?

I'll check into the formula car vs. GT car thing. Hoosier does not have any published weight ratings on these tires. I hadn't thought about that. I think I'm going to be pretty close on the wheel spacing. I should be dropping an easy inch on width with the coilovers which will make up most of...

Yep, the plan is to put in a stock motor for the time being. The motor that's currently in the car has a bad scratch on the #1 cylinder. I bought the car with the head off the motor. I've got a line on a local, stock 1.6 to put in it's place for the time being. I've still got LOTS of questions...

Definitely! Especially since you're a "scant" 5 hours from me. (Central NC) After reading your build thread though, building a car from scratch is MUCH more daunting than taking an STS car to DP. Still on my list of todo: 1. Wire car car from scratch (underway) 2. Install race seat(s) 3. Have...
