    all locked up

The keys have a little microchip in them that transmit to the ignition whether or not this is a valid, authorized key...helps prevent theft...a ford item. As far as the remotes go, try buying both...I bought both on ebay last summer for less than $20 for both of them, and its super easy to...

    Rust ISSUES! Plz read!

Sadly, I have the same problem...Dealer wouldn't do a thing because I'm out of warranty, too bad there is so much rust that I'm just going to scrap the car next spring when I buy a new non-mazda. Mike Stewart 2004 Mazda 3i, Sedan Cleveland, OH (First 3 years of cars life in NC) 115K where to...

Looking to buy a set of 4 OEM 17'' Wheels Don't have to be in the best condition, I use them with my blizzaks and have a set of summer wheels/tires. My OEM wheels are badly pitted and lose air. Looking for someone pref. in the Ohio/Michigan/PA Area. If you are willing to split some of the...

    Check Engine Light-P0446

Hey everyone...CEL came on for the first time today...So I borrowed my friend's code reader, and it came back with PO446, saying Change over valve was stuck closed. The reader said it was a pending error code, and that the issue was intermittently coming and going. This happened while on the...

    Battery/Stall

Hey, its been a while since I've posted on here but my car has been acting funny so I thought I'd post up here before bringing my car into the steal-ership. Every time the battery is disconnected on my car, the first time i run the car after, it idles very low, and acts as if it wants to stall...

    New Owner

well here are answers to some of your questions 1) the mazda 3's have been very reliable since the model was rolled out. There were very few major issues reported on any of the years, but from what I understand 2006 had some issues, but they were quickly fixed. 2) These cars are known to blow...

    2004 stock pads/rotors

I would hang on to it for a while...you'll probably need to keep it through the winter months. even though you are in California and winter is much different for us in the northeast, the most popular months to buy a used car, statistically are April, May and June. outside of waiting, I'd...

Going to look at a Mazda3 Hatch tomorrow... Things to make sure I look at.

well as far as mazdas go esp for the 04 year heres what i recommend, since i bought an 04 about 7 mos ago (and love it!) check the rear wheel wells for rust, have someone look at the motor mounts (tend to fail a lot on mazda 3's) because of where the miles are at, check brakes, tires, and...

    2004 stock pads/rotors

i would say yes, it is worth the price. Mazdas hold their value better than most of the other automakers and 120K really isnt that high for a japanese car, i would say try selling it at like 7200 or so and see where it goes

    2004 stock pads/rotors

i paid 8500 for it with 80,000 miles on it...only reason i paid as much as i did was because the car came with complete maintenance records, was meticulously cared for, and the car came with 2 sets of rims with a nice set of 4 continental summer tires, and basically brand new set of blizzaks for...

    sedan vs hatch front bumper

enough difference that a lip for the sedan probably wouldnt fit the hatch...the sedans dont share a single body panel with the hatch so id say its pretty different

    Engine light at 100k

typically obd runs diagnostics and is not ready for the first 10-15 times you start the car, after that if there is still an issue the light will come back on

    2004 stock pads/rotors

nope zero labor, but my buddy owns a shop and did it for free so all in all well worth it...no squeak, no squeal, no vibration, just smooth effective braking...im happy with it

    2004 stock pads/rotors

i finally bought the stock pads and rotors...they were a little pricey (around 400 for pads/rotors for all 4), but i don't need performance pads/rotors so im perfectly happy with stock

    Couple of questions

lamin-x or 3m. both brands make a kit with the overlays for your lights...just take your time and the end results are amazing.

    Engine Clicking

probably the timing chain...mazdas dont use a traditional timing belt, instead they use a steel link timing chain...they can be a little noisier than regular timing belts, but almost never have to be replaced

    Engine light at 100k

yup if the obd comes back with an evap code, could be as simple as gas cap not turned tightly....best thing to do is get the diagnostic code so you have an idea of what the issue is...
