S'Long to the '10 Stormy Blue Sport

Perhaps I don't fit the mold. I love the "manual" feature of the CX's shifter. I frequently go to 2d gear on the manual side if I need to get moving (uphill) from a light or stop sign. I find the CX will chirp the tires in first on the auto side. I want movement, not tire spin. Personally, I...

S'Long to the '10 Stormy Blue Sport

Just saw this. sorry for the delay. No, I would have bought another stormy blue in a heartbeat. To me its the best color Mazda ever put on one of these critters. White was the best option available (IMHO) at the time I traded. After 5 months I still miss the blue, but after all the rain in...

S'Long to the '10 Stormy Blue Sport

Seemed pretty strange to pull of a lot, and leave my baby sitting there. Never stranded me, never much trouble - just that dumb gas cap light. Nosed out into traffic in my brand new white Touring model!! Immediately noticed the difference in the exhaust note over the '10. Also noticed a...

    New to Mazda 24/7

I have to agree that the unit looks great, I hate it that you got a vehicle that you'll only get about another 200,000 out of. I have a 2010 sport that has only seen the shop for the dumb gas cap light. Aside from that mine has been absolutely wonderful. I usually drive one about 10 years...

    Cargo Carrier

5 Year Update! Amazingly enough, here is a 5 year followup on this project. First, I was very happy when I looked back at the original photos of the CX, and compared the shots then and now. The finish has really held up well, as has the vehicle in general. If one reads through this thread...

What have you done to your CX-9 today?

Actually went 10,000 plus, miles on an oil change (per the oil manufacturers recommendations). Never added a drop in that entire year. Just changed it, and it looked pretty good for that mileage. I had also used a high capacity extended life filter.

    Say Goodbye

Thanks Ceric for your help when I was a rookie CX owner. Mine just hit 5 years old in March, runs perfectly, and, we just got mama a new MB. I would hazard a guess when you give up your new Mazda 6 I'll still be driving this big blue bomber. Don't come here so much any more, but glad I...

What have you done to your CX-9 today?

I agree, and in reading on down the thread, it's hardly logical that Mazda would (1) try to power this battleship with a 4 - meaning significant redesign changes, and cost. Or (2) design something that suddenly wasn't fun to drive and couldn't "hunt" down Nissan's and the like. Mazda does not...

What have you done to your CX-9 today?

Bought my bride of 30 years a brand new M B GLA250 AWD for the CX-9 to share the garage with. She went from a Prius to this - and she no longer has to notify her car a day in advance to increase speed. 4 cylinder turbo hooked to a 7 speed tranny with paddles. The MB is a great runabout...

First post and a used CX-9 owner

Welcome to the Group. I have a '10 Sport that I bought new. Never needed any chassis, or suspension work until it was way out of warranty. Personally I have been very pleased with Firestone service for brakes, tires, alignment, etc. Since you have an AWD, you may be interested in their...

2012 CX-9 GT, after 13k miles, here's my list of gripes!

I put McNeil Weather Tech mats all round in our '09 Prius when we got it new, and in our '10 CX-9 when we got it. I had occasion to have both front sets out this week to clean them, and noticed how really beat up they are looking, especially in the Prius, which gets a different type of heel...

If I rear end a car with blacked out tail lights ...........

No damage to the hitch, frame or anything other than one of the impact shock absorber foam pieces needed replacing. The Suzuki that hit me is like half the size of the CX. My comments about the Chrysler were made with respects to creature comforts & gizmos. I haven't the foggiest idea as to...

If I rear end a car with blacked out tail lights ...........

Thank you. I got it back today in absolutely stunning condition. As an aside to the thread, the rental company went all out to provide a vehicle a 6'6" driver could be comfortable in. They came up with a brand new Chrysler Town and Country van. I will say it was very impressive. I haven't...

If I rear end a car with blacked out tail lights ...........

Unfortunately I just got my first door ding this week. Also unfortunately it was to my lift gate, which was plowed in by the front end of the car behind me. (I'm convinced she was texting) I was stopped at a red light, and had just enough time to lock my brake pedal down so I didn't hit the...
