    Mazdaspeed Protege to GS?

Jack Burns that finished 2nd in the Beamer told me they were running 245's on the car. He said they were rubbing everywhere (inside and out), but the guys didn't care. Jack is a super fast driver. I finished only .4XX behind him this past Sunday in Cincy and I've beat him once this year...

Congrats to Cindy Duncan 3rd at SCCA Nationals in DSL

Way to go Cindy!! I knew you'd do good this year, it's a shame it rained the 2nd day. I get to try my hand at Mr. Burns at the Cen-Div so we'll see how that goes. See you in Knox Sunday!!

No Cats = DSP Legal, correct?

14.10 Engine and Drive Train H. Exhaust manifolds and muffler systems are free, except that they must be quiet and terminate behind the driver. Exhaust heat shields may be removed. Rear- and mid-engined cars without exhaust headers/manifold systems may use any exhaust system that meets the...

How does MSP fare in its stock auto-x class?

I get my chance at Mr Burns this Sunday in Lexington. Had a good win last week at Fort Knox, 1st in class 1st in Pax right in front of another Speed. Burns has always been fast in anything he drives. Being able to fit super fat Hoosiers seens to help a little also. The tires you sold me are...

    MSP autoX advice

I agree with this, especially in the MSP. The seats don't have very good lateral support. I have G-Force 5-point harness, I just don't have the anti-sub belt installed. It was really easy install and it really helps out alot. You'd be surprised how much faster you are when you don't have to...

    Confused about SCCA auto-x classes

per the SCCA rules for Street Prepared 14.10 Engine and Drive Train C. Carburetors, fuel injection, intercoolers and intake manifolds are unrestricted. Alternate throttle linkage and connections to facilitate installation of allowed induction systems are permitted, but may serve no other...

    MSP autoX advice

The only modification you want to do that will put you in Street Mod is the MBC. The intercooler, intake, and turbo back exhaust are all legal in Street Prepared. However, you wouldn't be competitive in SP without r-compounds. Spend your money on wheels, good tires, and mad seat time. This...

    Confused about SCCA auto-x classes

The Mazdaspeed is not allowed in street touring street (STS). The main fact being that it has a torsen LSD. If it had a viscous LSD, then it would be legal for STS. The other reason is it's turbo. There are only a few turbo cars that are legal for STS. However, you are legal for the STX...

Disabling the ABS DIE DIE DIE!

Yes. You can't even run street prepared with the ABS disabled. Don't know why, but it's in the rules. You would have to move to a full Prepared or Modified class. Not worth it. Just to go along, yes, the ABS in the Speed is crap. It might not be as bad if it didn't come on so damn...
