Here is my take in addition to above posts: - Could be lots of carbon build up. If you rev up the engine to redline momentarily, does a lot of black smoke come out? [Excess carbon build up will create more compression, and would cause pre-detonation] - Are you using good quality gas...

So you guys still want to meet up? Perhaps head over to a Beyond meet also? I would really like to see Maxx's P5.

Have you checked the fluid level, and performed appropriate maintenance (such as transmission flush, filter change etc.)?

Well, I'm done school, we should do it up. Time/Place? Maybe we could join the beyond meets on Wednesdays too.

Possibly bad fan relay? Can't remember if there are one or two fans and if they are independent. In the service manual, 01-02B-109 seems to have some good info on this.
