I've had that issue before.. Needed to pull the drum to replace a broken lug stud. Tapped with a hammer, nudges twisted and poked at it for 20 minutes before I realized I had the parking brake set. (engages the rear brakes)... So, laughing at myself reached into the car to release the park...

We can get by with a quick spray wash weekly/monthly (depending on time of year), and only do a full hand wash like this one every year or so... Too bad many municipalities here frown on hand washing on the streets/driveways... Soaps, solvents, and the like entering the storm drain system...
